Born IKTT Germany

Started IKTT Germany

I met many people during my visit to Germany on June 21; and on the same day IKTT Germany was inaugurated. In June 2005, IKTT activities were featured on documentary program entitled “GEO-Reportage” broadcast in France and Germany. That was an introduction to the IKTT Germany establishment. Later, after the rebroadcast of the program in February this year, many program viewers came to visit IKTT in Siem Reap on their own. People among those visitors helped IKTT Germany come into existence.

One day, a big elderly German man visiting IKTT work-shop in Siem Reap unexpectedly came over to me and told me that he had seen me on television. I have also received many letters sharing the same view and feelings, with encouraging words as well.

This time I had only 2 days to stay in Hannover. However, thanks to kindness of Ms. Inge who was in charge of arranging this meeting, and through my encounters with many people here, I was able to get the message through that IKTT Germany was officially established.

One women coming and told to me what she also worked on a similar cultural restoration project for three years in Tunisia. She would say to me that: you really have striven hard for traditional textile restoration in Cambodia.

Before establishing IKTT Germany, we had also set up IKTT Japan. I hope that IKKT Germany will be able to carry out plans such as displaying and selling our products in European and at museums.

At Ms. Inge’s house, there are dozens of cloth items from research institute including the latest Pidan cloth.

I must carry on my European trip. Thank you very much.
